Letter To My Mentor

March 1st 2012 is a day in my life i will never forget. I had recently discovered my purpose in life and as my journey began,it was key to align myself with someone special and extraordinary-Fela Durotoye.
From afar,he was always someone i admired and wanted to get close to for i realized early enough that standing on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead of you-gives you a push that makes you fly higher than you alone would.
As i joined d twitter family with my handle @madpositive1- Fela Durotoye was one of the first people i started following. It brought me close but it was not good enough. Honestly,you can only imagine my joy as i saw his advert tweets on the Public Speaking Masterclass-"Find Your Voice...Speak to Lead".
I made plans immediately to attend and one year later... I am yet to recover.
The No 1 Book in the World-'My Bible' states that "A Man's Gift Will Bring Him Before Great Men...Indeed My Life has been all of that and much more.
With the Impartation and Teachings from that Special class,I went on to run a school empowerment programme for students in public schools where over 5000 students every week for 6weeks were inspired to greatness.Our tool was the phenomenal record breaking book by 'Yours Truly'-Fela Durotoye titled 17 Secrets of High Flying Students.A comprehensive assessment was done after the exams that session and there was an increase in performance-over 60%.Also i went back to school to study the Art of Coaching-Evoking excellence in others at the Centre for Coaching-University of Cape Town Graduate school of Business where i Graduated in November 2012.Today i mentor and coach people and in Jan 2013,i was nominated to be a mentor to awardees under the YouWin!Programme.I currently mentor 4awardees.When i was sent the Mentor's consent form i stated clearly that i was excited about mentoring as i am a product of exceptional mentoring...smile
Fela Durotoye told us as he has lit us we should go out and light others. I have not stopped since...
My radio show- Making A Difference Positively in 2012 Inspired Millions of People i may never meet. On Oct 1st,2012 passionately following the footsteps of my mentor-Fela Durotoye, we had a history making event-'Let's Colour Kwara', a Mushin Makeover inspired event.We gathered over 160Volunteers,raised funds,bought Dulux paint and painted a building for free in the Spirit of 'One Nigeria'.
Three things drive me in being a positive change agent...1. Love For My God...2. Love For My Family... 3. Love For My Country and I know i share this with My Mentor-Fela Durotoye.
In 2012 i went oustide the shores of this great country 4times and that has never happened before.
Till date,I continue to Make A Difference Positively everywhere i go.
Fela Durotoye even after the class continues to inspire and push me to greater heights. When it's been a while,i am quick to say 'My father,My father-Why has thou forsaken me?...smile...Truth is,he's always there even when not physically present as the seeds of the Public Speaking MasterClass continue to take root downwards and spring fruits upwards.
So...
One year later,If u ask me-I will take that class again and everything else Fela Durotoye has to offer because...I may not be where i am destined to be yet... but i am so sure, i am not where i was before.
