Back 2 School and Psycho-Social Support August 31st 2024 flyer
It is an annual initiative by my organization New Breed Africa to Careter for the well-being of orphans, less privileged, addicts, destitute and the Anglophone Crisis Affected Persons from the North West Region of Cameroon. The objective is to ensure that they are both mentally/psychologically healthy, physically/socially supported and empowered for a better living standard and eventual participation in the betterment of our communities. This is our way of contributing to the sustainable development goals of building sustainable communities, cities and the achievement of a better world via livelihood, educational, Psycho-Social Support/Empowerment etc.
We've been running this since 2017, making it 8 years today and over 2500 persons and more, majorly Single women and girls and their children.
The sustainable part of the project is an over 5 months capacity building for Orphans and Young Single mothers. Trainings on practical marketable skills in production of oils like coconut oil, Vaseline, Papaya oil etc, shampoo, hair conditioner, pastries and cakes, trainings on sowing, marking of traditional regalia, hair dressing etc. Over 200 girls have been trained and given certificates so far. Some were supported with small start-up materials and some are doing well in their respective startups while we provide them mentorship whenever need arises.
The Back 2 School takes place every August ending while in sync with this well-being goal for the Orphans and less Privileged Persons, Crisis/drugs Affected Persons and destitute, we have the End of year Food Support Program. This has been running since 2017 ,over 8 years as well with over 3000 women/girls and their children impacted in the North West Region. We hope to do more with your support.
We intend to gradually grow up to have a transit home for the homeless ones and a tuition free capacity building vocational center to ensure that the help is sustainable and many more lives can be impacted.
Videos and images of the yearly execution and impact are on our Social Media platforms @NewBreedAfricaFoundation (You Tube, Facebook, Instagram). Unfortunately for us we faced a situation where one of our volunteers who created and was managing our website, deleted it for whatever reason we're yet to know. So we're working on rebuilding the site and uploading our content from scratch.⚡
