Bayessa’s NLK Initiative

Along the NLK – the women led organization which I work with as programme Manager, we are committed to offer support to girls and women; men choosing nonviolence; offering support to other development activists in the grass root communities of Ethiopia. We build relationships via exchange of information, resources, encouraging one another for meaningful mission of empowering our own local women, girls, other vulnerable groups children, elderly, youths broadly in terms of advancing their social, economic, health rights and improved wellbeing.

The thematic areas include: Women’s Economic empowerment ; Prevention of violence against women, girls and children; prevention of COVID-19 outbreak and provision of protection supplies; early children’s literacy and girls education, community Library books and reading services, digital literacy and access to information technology resources for grassroots women and girl and other vulnerable groups at target grassroots communities in Ethiopia, , connecting women and girls to resources including online resources available with partners, donors, … and local and International Networks/ women among others.

The goal to achieve desired social and transformation and women empowerment enlightened by improved social, economic and health situations; regardless of their gender and health status as an active development process of their communities in which they take initiatives and action that is stimulated by their own thinking and deliberation and which they can effectively influence.
