Blooming Despite Boundaries
I am a girl, and I know how it feels to be treated like an outsider. There are moments that make us feel this way—being watched from car windows or the way people stare when we walk down the street alone , when we’re in public spaces, where whispers about our appearance seem to carry on the wind, making us feel like we don’t belong.
We, as members of society, as fathers, brothers, husbands, and men, must allow our daughters, sisters, and wives to flourish. Every young girl deserves the freedom to bloom into herself without the weight of constant judgment or limitation. It is on us, as mothers and sisters, to foster that strength and independence.
It often feels unsafe to be alone, and we are not always treated fairly. Many things are restricted—things we are not allowed to do. But I don’t mean the restrictions set by our faith. I mean the societal boundaries that keep us confined, that deny us the space to grow into the people we are meant to be.
