Girls at " His Grace Nursery and Primary School" Namasuba< Uganda strike for climate.
The Network Girl Tech Initiative Uganda is a women led & operated initiative by the Network Company Uganda a fully registered company in Uganda that deals in ICT installations and supply. The initiative aims to combat climate change through instilling technological skills in young girls to use them as a tool of climate action and social-economic empowerment. We promote girl child empowerment around Uganda, with a focus on Sustainable Development Goal 13: taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts and Goal 5b: harnessing technologies.
The initiative aims at un-relented climate action within Uganda and the world at large, through online advocacy, lobbying and sensitization of young girls within different communities and age groups within the country.
The Network Girl Tech Initiative Uganda also challenges the gender bias in Information Technology by helping girls learn ICT skills they need to be versatile in the ever changing technology space, and help them embrace it as part of their future careers and social-economic advancement. The Initiative is a Community based initiative (CBI) under Community Based Organizations
