I LOG ON TO RISE UP ! DIGIT ALL TO MY RESCUE

                 This title carries much weight for me , its not just the tag line for this months Digit All feature here on World Pulse . But literally it describes  my major  use  for digital technology , it is the access to social media platforms and its benefits , and   the purposeful use of  applications such as Google Search , Word  Documents ,  Canva ,  Illustrator , Photo Editor ,Zoom and all the the other apps that assist us with daily life and  business functions , it describes my journey so far on World  Pulse ,indeed has been one of elevation .

I was in secondary school in the 1970,s Information and communication technology came to the country  with the advent of the personal computer (PC), and soared when Toshiba introduced its first laptop in 1985. I clearly  remembered the transistion  the clerk  typist classes made from the type writers to computers with keyboards , and Imformation Technology was added to the list of subjects . 

From there on the improvements and new devices on the market was rapid , we frist got pagers a technology mostly for the coperate world , and then cell phones made their appearance  ,I  still remember my frist Nokia 1011 , it was one of the high end devices at the time , and I was amoung the frist to acquire one for my business and personal use , it was heavy ,with a lil knobby athena , the name 1011 referred to the day and month of release: 10 November 1992.

When the internet  came our telecommunications providers , began consistent upgrades  to keep up with forever changing technology  . The internet now provided us with connectivity to the globe , the ability to get access to  the imformation highway bringing with it advances in almost every aspect of life ,   , industry and commerce 

Now with a touch of a button you can access your bank account , speak to someone while looking at them in the face a million miles across the planet , or have a whole discourse after  business hours with a voice that is AI driven ,that can answer your queries.

Alexa  has replaced the remote and and we can drive to places we have never been guided as to the right route by AI Technology .

So how have I been  able to use this technology ,to my advantage , how has it improved my life ?

Well without Digital Technology , there would be no Global Network like World pulse , operating on the level it does , I would not have had an opportunity to meet the most amazing , empowered , purpose driven SHERO,s ive ever met , I would not have been able to read the powerful stories and taughts and accomplishment  of these women .

Getting together would have been costly and distant , we would not enjoy Training Tuesdays , having  access  to knowledge that  will improve the operations of our Initatives, no  Thriving Thursdays, or Changemaker Labs or  Parties , meeting up and sharing laughter with my amazing sisters .

I am a proud Digital Ambassador because it exist  , I would not have had the opportunity to express all that I am inspired to do through storytelling , being awarded  Featured Story Teller Three Times , or graduating as a Featured  Change Maker  after 6 months intensive training , nor would I have recieved two Certificates for the Trainathon Courses I have finished so far .

I would not have had an opportunity to share my initatives in the hope of attracting an investor but enjoying the opportunities to collaborate with like minded individuals in the meantime so far  , nor would I have  had the huge honor to meet the amazing women on   WP Board and share my journey on the platform so far  and any  ideas  I would have liked to see added. 

I have been  so excited about being a part  of World pulse that I share it to everyone I speak too , I share it via my social media fb pages, and on Linked In, sign ups by my felllow Trinidad and Tobago members have been rising , so last month I  came up with a cool idea to host a welcome zoom event entitled  Trainathon ,Wine and Red Velvet , co hosted by my mentor EJ, she presented the new members with a thorough introduction to getting  their story telling journey started  on WP , Im happy to report one person so far has posted her frist story, please  check out Masudah Muhammads  offering  on her new account and give her a warm welcome 

One of my other proud Moments was being Choosen  as a Digitial Ambassor amoung The Top 50 Rising Voices for the Spirit Awards 2022 , it felt like a Grammy, I was consequently featured in my local News Papers in commeration of International Womens Day 

Having  access to  research materials at the touch of a button at a time convienent beats going to the library any day, also no late fees ,  this assisted me greatly as  I love to research my topics and get my  facts right ,  before I present them in my stories .

I look forward to using Digitial Technology to reach a global audience with my  Trainathon sessions in Story Telling ,  planned for the 12th and 19th of March to commerate International Womens Day , this is only possible because the app zoom LIVE  can connect audiences around the world with the touch of a button . This is being facilitated for me by World Pulse .

Besides ,reading the stories of my siters here on WP, I am big on reading the work of Female authors who share their stories of overcoming situations including Domestic Abuse and have triumphed , I was connected to one such author recently through a WP sister of mine and I look forward to hosting her on the launch of a BOOK CLUB ,within the world pulse platform on the 5th March 

 Like me I think Digital technology is helping to improve the lives of women and girls  globally and should continue to be used responsibly yes there are negatives  , but there are many safety mechansim,s to protect us, we must take personal responsibility .  

PLatforms , like World Pulse promote the development and empowerment of Women, while giving space so we can raise our  voices , creating change that is powerful and sustainable  thats why I Log  On to Rise Up
