If not us, who?
From Friday the 20th to Sunday the 22nd of September my colleagues from National Movement of Catholic Students, Young Leaders Initiative(YALI), Catholic Friends for Charity (CF4C), Opportunities for Zimbabweans as well as Alcoholic Anonymous Team went for a career guidance at Gokomere High School in the province of Masvingo here in Zimbabwe. We saw that young people are learning but some of them haven’t found purpose to what they will become in the future. It is undeniably true that the youth are the leaders and they should have purpose and as a nation and world at large, we should raise confident and responsible leaders who can make a better future for all. The new pandemic, drug and substance abuse, has been a huge problem in modern society and this Career guidance raised awareness on the issue of drug use and substance abuse. For me, it was an amazing experience to work with young people, sharing ideas and sharing my experiences as a youth and university law student. I am happy that I managed to convince a lot of students to pursue their studies and dreams. I believe that from the different groups that were involved in this Experience shared their insights and most of all managed to bring smiles and added knowledge and wisdom in the minds of these young people. We should thus be an inspiration in the lives of these young people because, IF NOT US, THEN WHO?
