Dear all,
I want to tell this to somebody. Its so disturbing. So, i thought i could share this will all my friends on WorldPulse. This is about a girl named Khyati Shrestha, who was kidnapped and murdered brutally.
Khyati Shrestha, 19 year old, was a grade 12 student at Jubilant College and Research Centre. Her parents shifted to Kathmandu two years back after she passed her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) with distinction from Biratnagar, Nepal. She was kidnapped on June 5 from Putali Sadak, Kathmandu.
On June 5, she got a call from an unidentified girl, now identified as Merina Shakya, at 8:00 AM in the morning saying that she had won Nrs 20,000 and a free trip to Pokhara though a random selection by a magazine. She was asked to come for an interview before she could collect the prize amount and the tickets. Her mother asked a neighbor to drop Khyati at Putali Sadak at 1:00 PM. From there she was taken to Khusibu to Biren Shrestha (the culprit)'s apartment. It was only known in the evening that Khyati was kidnapped after her father received a text message that said Khyati had been kidnapped.A ransom of Nrs 1,000,000 was demanded. The family, with the fear of the kidnappers, did not inform the police. The kidnapper first asked the family to come with the ransom in Butwal, and then to Chitwan, Sunauli, Darjeeling and finally Kakarbhitta.
Radha, Khyati´s mother and her domestic help Ram, reached Kakarbhitta to hand over the ransom amount. Ram handed over the amount. Ram luckily managed to flee from the clutches of Shrestha as the latter tried to kidnap him, too, due to thh fear of being identified by Ram.
Even though the family paid the ransom, the kidnapper did not release Khyati. This only added worries to the victim´s family. Khyati´s mother had briefly seen Biren in a hotel where he had asked her to come to hand over the ransom. This substantiated her suspicion that Shrestha, her former landlord, could be behind the kidnapping and informed the police about it. Police finally arrested Shrestha from Sorhakhutte area on Saturday, 16 days after the kidnapping.
Preliminary investigation has suggested that Biren could have killed Khyati the same evening or the next day after her kidnap. Police officials say that Khyati could have died of excessive use of chloroform, which Biren used to silence her.
Biren then dismembered Khyati´s body and dumped the pieces in difference places so as to make it hard for the police to track his crime. Biren admitted that he threw Khyati´s torso in a stream at Sainbu and limbs in Narayangadh, and her head at Balaju.
According to District Police Office, Chitwan, the remains of the hands and legs were found in Chitwan 10 days ago. Locals at Kabilas VDC-2 had informed police after seeing a suspicious carton with the remains of a leg that could be made out from outside. Inspector Laxman Giri at District Police Office, Chitwan, said they had kept the body remains in safety thinking they could be linked to some criminal incident. “The hands were cut into two parts, he said, adding: “One of the legs was in three pieces and the other leg was also cut to pieces.”
Police found a human torso believed to be Khyati´s in a stream at Sainbu, Lalitpur on Sunday, as per details furnished by main accused Biren Shrestha (Pradhan).Police finally recovered Khyati's head after 19 days of being kidnapped from Raniban, near Balaju, area in the capital. The head was found almost in a decomposed state.
Khyati´s family had first lived in a flat in Biren´s house at Balaju. They had developed close relationship during the stay in Biren´s house. The family had shifted to Anamnagar after Shrestha sold his house a year ago.Biren had come to the victim´s residence at Anamnagar some five days before the kidnapping. He had pulled out his only photo from an album there without the notice of the family.
This news has disturbed me to no end. I cant really believe humankind can be this cruel. How could the man do this to the young girl? Imagine, she was slained and her body parts were found in 3 different places. This is heinous, and inhuman. I feel utterly depressed. I hope the culprit is given the severest of punishment for what has been done.
MAY KHYATI'S SOUL REST IN PEACE! AMEN!
