Since the inception of the APC political party into Nigeria leadership in 2023, the economic downturn in Nigeria has gone from one crisis to another.
First, it started with the Naira conversion rate having a free fall and, as Nigerians were hoping it was a big joke, it turns out the naira has fallen so badly in the international exchange rate to no redemptions as of the time of this publication.
It's not just the fault of the present ruling Party because, the economic crisis in Nigeria has been there but this time, it's something else.....something heartbreaking because, the cost of living in Nigeria is extremely high.
Cost of foodstuffs skyrocketed and refused to be stabilized. The more Nigerians complain to their leaders about their high cost of living, the more it gets worse.
On Ist August, 2024, Nigerians took to the streets and locked down all government establishments, banks, markets to show their anger and frustration in the ugly economic situation in Nigeria.
Most Nigerians kept blaming President Tinibu for Fuel subsidy removal saying, that was the beginning of the entire economic mess.
Economists blame the Nigeria president for not planning very well to put things in order before removing Petroleum subsidy in Nigeria.
Blames upon blames but one thing remains clear here, the Economic hardships in Nigeria are so baaadddd that most times, other countries wonder how Nigerians still survive without revolutions.
During the Ist August, 2024 Protest tagged- #ENDBADGOVERNMENT
#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria...
There were places in Nigeria where people died, protesters looted shops filled with foodstuffs because, they were hungry. Ofcourse being hungry isn't a justified reason to break people's shops and stole their goods. All these happened during the protest that was suposed to last for ten days.
As of the time of this story, the protest was relaxed, but organizers have insisted on renewing their plans of going back to the streets if the APC government and leadership in Nigeria refused to stabilize the economic crisis in Nigeria.📍
