My story revolves around my Mozambican community. Currently, the number of girls living in the countryside is much greater and the lack of conditions to receive sanitary pads for their menstrual period ends up causing the problem of menstrual poverty. This problem was identified when visiting a local community. Therefore, there is an urgent need to implement a project that aims to educate girls about the menstrual cycle, the appropriate care to be taken and to subsidize these girls with regard to access to sanitary pads. Unfortunately, menstrual poverty is a reality in Mozambique that must be intervened because it ends up putting the public health of women and girls at risk, causing them infections that can be sexually transmitted, and men are left vulnerable. We have already worked with some communities, offering sanitary towels, but the project is on pause due to a lack of funds that could support the project's actions. Thank you for your attention.
