Favorite Quotes from Qualities to Embrace section of Prayers from the Heart
As some of you may already know, I created a prayer and meditation video called Prayers from the Heart earlier this year. These prayers were written by me while I was in my first year of Seminary school. I took time over the winter break to reflect and to write these prayers on topics that mattered a lot to me in my walk with God. As I mentioned previously, I live with bipolar disorder, and while I was going through a significant depressive episode last year, I learned about different ways to cope with depression. As a result of my time in an intensive outpatient program, I decided to create this meditation video called Prayers from the Heart. The videos include prayers that are based on verses from the Bible on the topics I selected; topics like hope, peace, love, depression, forgiveness, boundaries and faith. There are 77 topics, broken out into 4 sections, Qualities to Embrace, Relationships, Challenges to Overcome and Practices.
I've been thinking about the initiative I created to share Prayers from the Heart with at least 10,000 people and inspire women, young and old, to engage in a personal practice of prayer and meditation. As part of that initiative, someone approached me with an interest in Prayers from the Heart as a program. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to share this idea of being a part of group sessions on Zoom to go through both the meditation videos and the prayer book together. The reason I suggest both the book and the videos is because the book allows you to not only read the prayers at your own pace, but it includes a section where you can write your own prayers and God's responses to those prayers. In a group setting over Zoom, we will read the prayers and share about our experience with the topic of the prayer and answer a couple discussion questions together. As each woman comes with her own story and experience with prayer and meditation, the group is enriched and inspired as each woman tackles the day ahead.
My desire is to use Prayers from the Heart to inspire women in their prayer life and to considering what it would look like to talk to God, if you've never done it before. This group is for woman of all ages and stages in their prayer journey. I would love to see a cross cultural group start, where woman come together and encourage each other across the globe. Have you thought about what it would be like to talk to God about the real issues in your life? Not just a prayer for your food or for your rest at night, but really talk to God and refuse to give up until you've received an answer? Well Prayers from the Heart is for you.
Please send me a message and let me know if you're interested. The sessions would be over Zoom for 35-40 minutes and we'll tackle one or two prayers a session each week until we finish all 77 prayers. Let the prayer journey begin!
