Some years back, i had a very horrible challenge (depression).

So, I ran online to my social media platform to share my story hoping to find solace, hoping to find strength, encouragement and peace of mind that I've no longer got.

But, i ended up not sharing my story, i choose to keep mute, because of shame, because of how people would perceive my journey, because of the nonchallancy of the users of these platforms. considering the fact that i have seen many women share their story on these media platforms seeking for encouragement and strength, but was left in nothing but shambles, their voice was not lifted rather they were used against them.

In the world where cyberbulling is on the rise, their outspokenness was mistaken for content creation, and unnecessary seeking of attention,  they were DISTRACTED from finding encouragement, and getting a COLLECTIVE ACTION.

I decided to be on the lookout for a conducive platform to "Survive My Shame", then i bumped into WORLD PULSE COMMUNITY.

Like many other women this digital platform helped me regain my personality, i began to gradually "Survive My Shame", every bit of what i have gone through in life i share on this platform without shame, without the fear of being judged, without the fear of  being DISTRACTED with hurtful words.  this is exactly what women need, a space to call their world, a shoulder to cry on, a space which would feel her pain and console her.

The world is digitally evolving, and social media platforms shouldn't be left out.

The moment these platforms are viewed beyond content creation and distractions, women would be heard, stories from victims would be taken seriously and actions would be taken.

Women constantly need to be reminded that they are strong, that they are epitome of success, that they are survivors and it won't be achievable by cyber bullying, by distractions or by using derogatory words, rather it would be achieved by paying close attention to people's stories and lifting their voices on social media platforms or digital platforms.

So, in commemoration of international women's day, let's come together to reimagine digital impact on digital platforms and social media platforms from distraction to collective action.
