The Vision

It had been my dream on coming back to my country in 2015, to found a center where people could come to rest and recuperate, get the support they need for their mental health care and other emotional and even spiritual needs. Eight years later, my God deems me ready to do this and the support will come. Indeed, I already received a seed to acquire the land, and I am so blessed by this community and others in my life who give me good counsel and from who I am learning so much even if I don't always tell them. I will be going to a nearby village this weekend to see the land and make arrangements for its gradual exploitation. I have already met the chief of the village concerned for his family lives in my city and so he spends his weekends here, and he invited us to the village. I am sharing this initiative to first of all inspire and motivate someone who is is just setting out with their organization and are full of zeal and looking for resources and guidance on how to proceed.

Secondly, I hope to get some support from here through the resources section, for this enormous project. I want to replicate what my big sister Olutosin has done in her country of Nigeria and calls Sister City. I want the different boukarous to be for different people and different issues. For example those with mental health challenges, different genders, those fleeing domestic abuse and needing shelter, the homeless looking for somewhere to stay in while figuring their lives out again, the kids from the streets etc,.

I know that this going to take quiet some money and resources, and so I remain steadfast in my faith, while equally doing all what is in my power to do to get the project going and  make it visible so that I can attract all the support needed. The first step towards this visibility for me is revamping our website. I remain so hopeful and grateful for so so much. The healing circle would be the appex of this project for me, as well as the friendship benches where peers can sit and support each other even by just listening to one another. Well, there are going to be many updates and evaluations and re-evaluations as we progress....
