Growing the concept of being 'The Omaruke' as a brand is one thing I've come to love about embracing who I am. Life tried to re-shape me into the definition of society but I fought through to stand out.

I am currently a final-year law student and a woman who has moved the course of society by promoting the initiatives of Gender Equality as an impact project through the safe-gender initiative, this was a baton I fought so hard to build for a year because my teachers looked down on me but my biggest motivation was my parents and the idea of determination.

It has not been easy growing up in a patriarchal society like mine that views women as a better escape to sexual arousal for sexual gratification, a world where a laden spoon is called us writing tool, where the line of succession discriminates against the female gender because we have a skirt on our waist.

This has prompted me to building a safe world for the female gender, I'm who I say I am not what the world says, I am The Omaruke.

The demise of my father broke me to piece at the feet of my world but sometimes I find myself doing better than I were for I pursue a legacy of excellence, most times I am booed for choosing my path to greatness by forsaking pleasure but deep within, no one understands the value of this course because this is an in-depth goal I pursue, to be a leading woman representing a greater generation on promoting the cause of social change and stability.

Perfection is not my story but spontaneity rings out loud in me, which is why I strive so hard to be the best in my game because no one cares about that pain but the fruits that matured from it. This is my story. Having been exposed to sexual harassment at a young age with zero tolerance of control, i became addictive to the course of it because of the arousal it brought but little did I know it was only a joy killer and a motive to set my goals on fire.

So, I caged me in the crux that i couldn't find freedom except being with a man and being subjected to his dominance because this is what the African society has subjected the female gender to and the moment we try to stand up and speak up, our tongues are wrinkled and cluttered in the Viles of the society.

Call me a determined woman who has risen and broken bounds countless time by setting the ladder straight, an award winner and a woman of impact, and this is my desire for every woman out there seeking an example worthy of emulation. Today i raise my head high with my glass held up high in my hands to toast to at the experiences of life that shaped me.

There is the saying that life sharpens up, well the experiences do, just don't quite cause when you do, you subject yourself to the slavery of dependence and not independence.

Thank you!
