Today, I wanted to give a nod to Women's Equality Day, a super important date that marks a significant milestone in the fight for women's rights. Celebrated on August 26th each year, this day commemorates the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920. This landmark amendment granted women the right to vote, a hard-won victory after decades of tireless advocacy, protests, and perseverance by suffragettes.

The struggle didn't end there, though. Women continued to fight for equal rights across all facets of life. In 1971, Congress designated August 26th as Women's Equality Day due in large part to the efforts of leaders like Bella Abzug, who championed the recognition of women's ongoing struggle for equality.

So, as we celebrate, let’s remember the brave women who paved the way and recognize that the journey towards true equality still continues.

Should this be an International Day? Why/Why not?
