Today, the reading culture is sadly dying out. The school curriculum putting more emphasis on grading, and less on children reading to understand. At smiles of hope Kenya, we help pupils discover the joy and value of reading. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to read. access to books gives them the chance to shape their own future. We exist to help more kids discover the journey of reading and the opportunities it can bring.

We have been collecting books both new and gently used, to help pupils who cannot afford to buy and even donate to schools to encourage the reading culture. Today, International book donation day marks a very important day in our calendar of events. We are still collecting books to donate.
